This may seem out of context, but I believe a congregation is better off when there are a sequence of leaders, either as elders or pastors. Israel had to move so that they would know that the Lord was Lord and not the human leaders either Moses or Aaron or any other. When we get too comfortable in our service, our plans and our vision become protective rather than reactive to the current world. We need to remember that Our Father is the Lord of the Kingdom that we have inherited from Jesus; a mobile Kingdom of love, mercy and holiness that will always seem invasive to the world around us. When we get comfortable in the current challenge, be sure we need the freedom to listen new to the movement of His Kingdom. Pray always for our hearts to hear the Lord clearly.
