Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
July 4 was three days ago. That is supposed to be the day we celebrate our freedom as a nation. Are we free from accusations, brutality, drunkenness, addictions and lies, deceptions and such? Do not these characteristics bind many of us in our living and futures? The alternative is that the living God dwell in us without shame, fear or pretention! And it is that last item that makes it a battle. We can all pretend that we are over our sins, but in fact, that freedom is not automatic when we hear the words of the Gospel. For those words to set us free, we need to be changed both inwardly and in the fellowship of the free. When I know you are truly free from the bondage you and I know you were in, then I can seek freedom from the bondage I know lives in me And that my friends is the true fellowship of the redeemed! The “Yoke” is the fear of others knowing my sin. And my fear of actually dealing with it by turning it over to HIM!
