Under Pontius Pilate!

I would note that the Creed mentions Mary the Mother of Jesus and Pilate by name. We worship Father, Son and Spirit who are also named. Mary because of the Incarnation which remains an item of permanent discussion at another time. But Pilate is named because of this event: He gave up Jesus to death, the death that frees us. He allowed the greatest miscarriage of justice ever to open the gates for the greatest act of divine justice ever. One question that might be asked in the end is “Was this an act of eternal mercy or of everlasting curse?” For Pilate? The lack of moral justice was certainly there for the Jewish leaders and Pilate, but in the end, the ultimate result was the salvation opportunity for the world! His moral condition from out point of view was horrendous, but his involvement in our salvation event is central! In our moral failures, our lack of adequate judgements, let us open our hearts to the possibility that He may make a new day out of bad moments. Maybe someday, someone will remember a bad day of mine as a day they found the hand of God heal their hearts. ?t And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
