Ephesians 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
How to judge worthy of our calling? Let me check: Paul attacked members of the faith, then Jesus conscripted him to be an Apostle of the faith. Then he was beaten, shipwrecked and various other events. Would we need to be attacked by others after attacking believers to be WORTHY? No. He was now a prisoner for the sake of the Lord, putting aside all of his possible qualifications other than “I have been sent by the Savior…” Our worthiness is not in us, but in Him whom we proclaim. Does The Lord God (in the person of the Holy Spirit) live in and with us? Are we convinced that our true worth is His life in us for His glory? Are we living by His grace and not our own sense of personal value? Check out the rest of Ephesians 4.
