Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ

AS!

Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

In my limited experience, I have found this prayer answered much more rarely than I would expect. When we hit pain, anger, attacks of others or just life stuff, it is rare for us to see God shine in that moment, but we often only see the outer, pain and anger and loss of the moment. We could look further and see peace in the place of strife and hurt. We could ask whose will is about to be accomplished rather than “Did we get our way?” And I truly do not really have a very good picture (more like one of those impressionist painters jobs) of heavenly results rather than the stuff of earth. You know, at best fuzzy, maybe even not sure what is showing, but not clearly angelic and pure. Yet this is the prayer of Jesus for our daily life and our daily expectation. This could be a clue for us to change our spiritual glasses in some way.

I can’t just leave it that way: our spiritual glasses are worn in our heads/hearts/expectations. Do I look at the first response or the growing awareness of love, forgiveness, mercy and healing that comes in the strife of our lives? Yes? No? Maybe?
