Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
I am way over my head on this one, but I have read a good description of this day 1 in creation that did something helpful in putting it all together: a study offered that this first day was definitely of a different nature than the 24 hour kind. The nature of light was built into the first day and light is almost without definition even today. In any case you will remember that the Sun was created on day 4 which is a bit complicated by most understanding. But for now the issue is day 1. Stuff, earth, even “the deep” was there, but not the sun and moon for the assigning of day and night! Could we go along with the concept that God did this creating in His way and not by logic and even the descriptions of what we call science. Oh, the science will reveal the incredible power and vastness of what He has made, but it may take a huge step forward to put the details in proper shape. Maybe we could take a step and just worship with awe, wonder and patience the Creator of all who did it HIS way.
