1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
Yesterday we looked at resisting the devil. Today, love and lust and pride are lifted up even more. And I find myself weak in my flesh for food, comfort and ease; in my eyes for the created glory of His work more than for Him; and in my life for the hope of more days of me and mine than of eternity filled with My Father. Oh, I think I do pretty well {compared to many}, but the truth is that my love is weak, badly self-directed and often confused by the challenges of waiting for His Presence in eternity. Are you able to keep a clear picture of that which Our Father offers in the day to day of this world? Let us pray together for a greater love of Our Father even now.
