Psalm 75:1 We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.
We tell the stories of the Bible and often focus on Noah, Abraham, David, Daniel and all the rest as great people of God. And they were. But it should be clear in each story that the focus is almost always missed, this is not their story, but the Story Of God, the Lord of Heaven and Earth. The deeds are not David knocking off Goliath, but God affirming His call on Israel. Not, Samson tearing down the temple in a final triumph, but God showing the triumph of His call on this man and for this people. The deeds in the Bible are the actions of God for His purposes. When we tell the stories, quote this verse: “ We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near!” Then we have told the story.
