Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise."
So many thoughts I have heard about this moment. Some claim no need for baptism, “the thief did not get baptized”. Some note that if “today” was serious, Jesus skipped the grave that day too. Some note that shows immediate intensive relationship with God at death. Maybe all are true, but one thing is true: that man who was guilty in this world/time/environment was now free to fly. No more penalties. No more nationalistic battles to be fought. Freedom with God Himself. What do we want today? I hope all of us what “to be with Him” today. That will take care of tomorrow and eternity. I hope that means that all of the “methods” of life might be put simply before the one thing that really matters: WHO IS WITH US AT THIS MOMENT!
