Revelation 11:3-5 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." 4 They are "the two olive trees" and the two lampstands, and "they stand before the Lord of the earth." 5 If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die.
The first order of business when we hear a prophecy that is not yet fulfilled is to ask when and how? Oh, we trust that God will do what He says, but what are we to look for? Awesome power to kill their enemies? Testimonies in the place of the Temple? Was Jesus from Nazareth, Bethlehem or out of Egypt? Yes. At some point in the life of our world, God will send some messengers to Israel whose very persons speak the power and presence of God who like others before will be attacked toward death. And they will survive. And proclaim. Will we know them? He will know them and He will open gates of power for them. And we may be confused about the reports even as many were confused about The Son who rose.
