“The corn is high, the wheat is waving and the people of my flock are ready to rejoice with me.” Harvest time also is the time that the combine goes through the field and puts the crop in the harvester while spewing out the back the chaff and other junk found in the field. The violence of the joyful harvest is often ignored while the work is being done. I note that in the pictures of the harvest of lives, there is also the violence of the separation. If we want to avoid the violence, we need to work, pray and offer the hope of the harvest to those who are missing the joy of His love, His presence and His sacrifice.
