Phil. 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Phil. 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
I am the product of the handiwork of God. I am touched by the brokenness of our world’s rebellion. My weaknesses from poor eyesight to my hippy limps are not His fault, but part of the limited world in which I live. But He has made me and the little baby who did not live more than a few breaths and the failed lives who took lives in anger and hate and fear in the streets of America and on the battlefields of the world. All have been made by Him and our response ought to be awe, but often we respond with I need more: more brains, muscle, resources, acclaim and more, more, more. In the middle of all the brokenness can we join in the song that proceeds from the heart of David to say: “ praise you”. Are we too filled with our limits, our failures to see past them to the One who designed and planned for us? I am made by My Father and so are you. Your days are not mine and mine not yours, but both of us His.
