1 Corinthians 15:24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

The key to this is the destruction of all “dominion, authority and power”. We are in the realm of the before, not the after at this point in our existence. Dominions are all over the place -in fact the atmosphere in the USA is of one area of dominion against another with the dominion of our Father and His Son well down in the expectations of most of the participants. That God the Father will reign in the end should be obvious, but our vision of this must be short by a lot. Some of us still wonder if our first puppy or our latest cat will be with us for example. Am I really fully completely ready to be under the feet of The Father God? Really? That was exactly what happened in Eden, remember and I am a whole lot further away from the pure expectations put on Adam and Eve. The dominions, authorities and all of that are what actually hit on you and me daily and we are kind of used to them. I expect no taxes, no dangers and what about full knowledge of physics, chemistry, medicine (probably won’t need that then) and history (only need to know we missed most of His handywork in our time). I truly expect to be back in Eden being tutored by the creator to rejoice in Him and His creation. What do you expect?
