Matthew 26:63 But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God." 64 "You have said so," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
I have a couple challenges in this passage: 1- Is the Messiah, the Son of God the same as the Son of Man at the right hand of the Mighty One? 2- The timing of a high priest seeing Him coming on the clouds of heaven when it is at least 2000 years later and He came back only to the disciples so far as we know.
Regarding #1, it is good that we are not given definitions of the Trinity beyond what we have been given. Is it not enough that Our Father has released Himself in two ways for us to follow into His Kingdom? Do we really have to make it all fit philosophically? And the high priest may well be invited to see the glory of the risen King from one side or the other with the sheep and goats. What about us? Do we let some little confusions bother us when we encounter His Glory?
