Jesus

Matthew 1:21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

Jesus, Jeshua, a form of Joshua. Not to lead them into the promised land, but into a life where the promise is real for life that is a victory over sin. Are we aware enough of the power, nature and reality of sin? I know preachers of various sorts are often very excited to label sins, develop pictures of our depth of sin, but do we do enough to show the incredible reality of being brought away from the power of sin. Can we see Jesus as the one who overcomes the power of self, pride and denial in our lives? Oh, throw in a bit about pointing at the sins of others too. Have we seen enough distance between our sins and our ownership of them to say that Jesus saves us from their destruction? Does He help us see where our sense of self has blinded us from the power of ME that destroys? Jesus, I need you, we need you. Thank you.
