Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The first promise here is that God is the equipper of our lives for doing His will. He is the one who works “what is pleasing to Him”. Are we surrendered to Him in this? The covenant has been, I will be your God, you are my people. And our response has been “OK, but we will do it our way.” But the long term, eternal deal is that He will guide our directions, our purpose into His way which pleases Him. Jesus is the source that will bring us to a surrendered place where the stresses of our world are covered by the grace and peace of God He offers. Then He will do work in us that offers Him to others and even back to us. Jesus opens the door so that what we offer is not us, but Him. Let that be true in us today.
