2 Thessalonians 1:11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.
Who makes me worthy of His calling? Who may bring to fruition desires for goodness and deeds of faith? I thought, at least once, that these were my contributions to the life of God in the world. Don’t I have to live up to the baptism I received from Him? Don’t I need to show Jesus in all that I do? Is not my life in Him at least partially the result of my faith, my efforts sacrificed to Jesus and the growth of fellowship with each other on His word and sacrifice? Now, it sounds as if all of that is a result of the mercy, grace, power and love of God that I desire. Yes. That is it there. Not what I accomplish, but what He does with the little drop of faith that I offer in hearing His purpose and power around me. Let us pray for each other always for the best in Him to shine through.
