Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
The first key to this passage is that Jesus has gone before us and has gone through all that is possible for us to face and is secure. Mercy and grace go before us in Him and that is our hope when the world turns against us and there is no mercy or grace from the world, sometimes even from those who are called His people. That was certainly true for Jesus. Right? We are called to trust our Father in the challenges of this world of sin, rebellion and selfishness. It is not this world that offers hope, but the throne, the place of our Father to which we turn. I do not see it, I do not hear it (if I do, it is covered with stuff of “many levels of redeemed”), I do not find evidence lying about that offers great hope in this world. But I have seen the heart of Jesus not just in the scripture message, but in those who have been touched by Him even as we stumble through the forest of this broken world. He is on His throne, let us go to Him even now.
