1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
The one that is in the world has hate, selfishness, revenge, lust, guilt, greed and so many other weapons working for him that is really hard to believe that Our Lord is greater than him!! What has the Lord got? Love, that is the agape thing that gives and gives and loves and loves in spite of our sin and visions of power. He is the creator, but what a mess that has turned out to be! Look at all the forms of power, creativity and lust that creation has worked out. If you do not believe me, check out the way our own politicians give us for voting for them. Now what is greater than the world? He is. He made us, designed us for fellowship with Him and if you think the stuff of this world is worth sacrifice what about the one who crafted it all! He truly loves us and the world throws us away and around in hate, disgust, lust and violence regularly. Yes, this world pretends to care, but it does not and He came and gave Himself up for us to have contact, future and fellowship with Him. You are from God and the return to the source is a healing and event of fullness the world can only pretend to offer.
