There was a time in my life when I said “the past is not part of my desire or life wish”. Broken homes, isolation and other events and characterizations were in my mind to leave behind. That kind of adjustment was what God was pointing Judea and even all of Israel toward: PUT THE PAST BEHIND because He was going to do something new in reclaiming the nation and even pursuing the future of His redemption. Sometimes in life there are pains and discouragements that we would like to not have as part of the baggage into the next portion of our lives. BUT… they remain a memory or even worse yet a debt that will stand for a period of time. If that is part of your life today, take the call of the Lord and grasp the promise of a new walk even if it seems to go through the unmarked future wilderness you have not traveled and the wasteland with no clear provisions. HE IS THERE.
