Genesis 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
This is the hard part for Israel, for Jews, for Catholics, for Lutherans, for every fellowship, nationality and family. It is not about us, but all. Abraham, Jacob (Israel you remember his name change), David and all the rest are God’s work for the world. Blessing seems to be for US and curses for THEM, but “all peoples on earth” could not possibly be those folks. Do we see broken, hurting, lost and even hating people around us? They are part of the “all peoples on earth” that still may hear and believe the love of the Father of us all. This opening offer of salvation life should not be forgotten in the ups and downs of Israel as we read the next books of history, prophecy, worship and struggle before Jesus’ story. ALL PEOPLES might just mean ALL PEOPLES. Let our hearts hear the heart of God to Abraham and his people.
