Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ

Holy Day

Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

The day is made holy because it is our response to our Creator. We acknowledge the creation and the creator by putting the day aside. As I have rarely done. We have held somewhere in the area of 2000 worship services on Sundays, but rarely actually in my life made the whole day a Holy Day, just the events in that day such as worship or a family/youth event. Sometimes that day is a day when Ada spends a fair amount of time cooking for the family we love. Worse yet have been the days I have spent some of the afternoon fruitlessly cheering for a bunch of athletes hundreds of miles away while I sit on a chair or other soft place. How have your “Holy Days” been? On the lake, putting green, milking the cows or shooting the deer? This commandment (opportunity to respond to Our Father’s design) is a cry for renewed faith and trust by us all. It is not a measure of action, but a heart response to His love and design. Remember!
