Isaiah 41: 8 "But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, 9 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
In recent years churches have split over all kinds of both foolish and serious issues and people. What should be the safe place in a broken world is no more perfect than Israel in the 2000 or so year old story of the people of Abraham until Jesus. Sin is found, breaks hopes, suffers pain and still the promise is there of life with our Father. Do we turn to David our King, Samuel our prophet, Isaiah who suffers with us or to our Father God who seems often removed, but has promised always to be with us? David gave us many testimonies to His Father God while he suffered the consequences and weaknesses of his life. Samuel saw his children fail while his testimony was faithful. Isaiah was told no one would listen while he spoke and wrote faithfully for decades. As you and I walk and live in this broken world with broken friends and family, our hope always remains in this: … “do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
