I Don’t Like It

Psalm 73:28 But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

This Psalm is first of all a lament about heartless people who can commit sin and graft and such and not seem to feel a thing. They can ignore God with impudence. While the rest of us wrestle with God as a living reality and not just a set of rules and principles that others seem to ignore. Their ending will be awful, but in this present time, it seems like they get to run the way they want. Have you felt that in this world of competing ideologies of condemnation? And even if you haven’t there is that feeling of why do those who think differently than I do seem to get away with it? Then there is that reality: I trust the Lord, I am close to My Father and He is my refuge. Does that work for you when the obstinance of the sinners rise up and rubs their sin in your face and records of the world? Have you turned to the Lord in such times and been grateful for Him? David did.
