Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
2 Timothy1:9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time
What do you think makes a “Holy Life”? The books of Timothy lift up a number of characteristics don’t they? Standards of behavior and relationship are certainly helpful. But may I offer a moment of reflection as I read this verse? My Holy Life starts and ends with one reality: I am a child of the One Who Made Me. He has dreams and purposes for me. He has walked through life with me and still calls me His, when I fail, trip and stumble. Yes, there are rules and standards, but most of all, there is My Father, God, Jesus and the Living Spirit who truly define me and my life. That really defines my Holy Life.
