Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
Revelation 7:9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
The “this” is a numbering of the people of Israel (NOT VERY BIG NUMBERS I NOTICED) which maybe does not really count the actual numbers, but the balance they entailed. (Do not hold me to that part, but the numbers do seem a bit set up!) But the picture of this passage is a picture of the awesome results of so many testimonies, fellowships, translations, mission outreaches, people sent forth by the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the awkward efforts of the well meaning normal human beings over the ages who opened relationships with Father, Son and Spirit that lived on long enough for Jesus to cover broken lives and the ravages of sin. There is a promise that there will be a celebration that we only get hints of in our limited gatherings – but keep the gatherings that we might be encouraged in the mission. Even heaven needs celebration!
