Psalm 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Read the whole Psalm if you have a moment. This is one of those responses to life that we do not give credit to the people of Israel. This is against the God of hard judgment, this is for the God of compassion and forgiveness, love and mercy. It was not the intent of God to continue to remember our sin and selfishness and wickedness and (oh let us put aside the rest of the sins). It has always been the heart of God to cover us with love, mercy and grace. It is always the heart of man to remember not only my sins, but those of the rest of the people and not be forgiving. Why should it be a surprise that we are forgiven, loved and redeemed by the blood of the lamb? Could it be that I and maybe you tend to remember well the sins against us more easily than the Love that is flowing through us? I have a friend who has hardened himself against a foolish person with great needs. He is right that the other is wrong. When did the blood of Jesus not flow for both of them? The law of man will deal with many sins, but only the Love of God will heal any of them. He removes transgressions, not empowers them.
