Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
How was or is Jesus in the light? The purification from sin is a light to all of us because most of the time our sins are not as obvious as we make them. The lie is told, but we who make it really believe that telling that lie does not really count so long as we are seen as good folks. Many folks have given excuses for murder, theft and other crimes as if that covers it. On the scale of my life, the sins are not obvious to others, only to me in the quiet of my conscience. He shines on us and our sins are revealed at least to us and often to those around. His blood, his sacrifice removes the accusation that belongs to us and offers a full pardon, forgiveness. The sin exists, but the pardon is greater and full. That reality is a light in the darkness in a world of accusations, guilt and moral relativities. I am guilty and we are both forgiven. Light shines.
