Ephesians 6:13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
I have seen folks put on symbolic armor for each one mentioned above this verse. It is pretty cool. I have heard pretty good talks on each piece. But note that the major goal of this passage is that we stand. It is really important that we understand that standing is not easy without the help of God’s promises, gifts and presence. We can determine to stand and like Judas fail because of missed clues and clear warnings. We seem to be standing so long as real attacks are being ignored until they have finally brought real fear of the world to our hearts. All the pieces of armor are gifts from the Lord for us as we live in a broken, troubled and fearful world. The goal is not always to defeat the enemy, but at least that we stand when the fighting seems to be softer. Stand with the help of our Father. Amen
