Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
1 Corinthians 15:12, 20 12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
One of the basic statements of my life has been: “I was saved on a cross outside Jerusalem 2000 years ago”. I believe and maintain that the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross was the essential act of God to redeem humanity with me in the group also. I believe you were likewise given an open door to the Father by Jesus. So, this statement on the essential nature of the resurrection might seem unnecessary. It is not. This resurrection is the victory statement over the apparent defeat at the cross by the powers of this world. They did NOT WIN! He rose. He is alive! The victory is won and Paul declared it, the disciples lived it and we are invited to celebrate it. He comes first from death to life, we will join Him who leads the celebration triumphal parade from death to life. Indeed.
