Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
2 Timothy 4:6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
He was not the bull offering, not the grain offering, but a drink offering in his own mind and heart. And, note, that what he saw for himself was also what he saw for all who had their hopes pinned on Jesus the Judge. He knew that the Lord used him and others, but saw the value of that use as one of many who were gifts to the world from the One who called to all. The crown was not because of the extraordinary value (which we see), but because God would declare His part in the work that Jesus accomplished. Salvation is not the work of Paul, Peter, Percy or you, but He uses us and welcomes us. A worthy crown for the team!
