Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
II Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Paul makes such a clear statement of that future home that I must ask: “do we know it is there?” Do I? My body, at this age, is not the body I was given in my youth. Several adjustments have been given (by the wisdom of human physicians and their skills) that have kept me alive and mostly functioning for this life. That can cover the option of the future body, building, house into a form of fantasy and not the reality of His promise. By the time of this epistle, Paul has seen and heard death of others from the family of faith. This promise of the house from God has solid experience behind it. When you experience the funeral, celebration of life or even the direct death of someone, it is true that YOU KNOW the house to come? Check once more the empty tomb of the Lord who calls us to Him eternally. Touch His hands, His feet, His side.
