Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Should I expect the cross in my life? Shame? Or only the place at the right hand of Yahweh? Yes to shame in the world. Yes to a cross of worldly exposure. But yes to these hindrances and the joy of having Jesus lead us, guide us and hold us in the days of struggles, resistance and our own weaknesses. Our vision changes when it is no longer on the limits of our lives, but on the unlimited Father who gives Himself, Jesus, so that we can walk in fellowship with Him in His Spirit. The throne is on the side of those who see the witnesses who could not see Jesus in whom we have been bathed. Their trust in what they could not yet see is a challenge for us who have seen and yet lived in fear, weakness and shame. Throw off these hinderances and run fast and hard for the joy set before us.
