Psalm 89:8 O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you?
When we see the word mighty we think miracles and such, but the Psalmist (not David) is thinking about mighty creation, mighty faithfulness, and mighty character which are not really violations of what we know about the natural order. The world has order – an order that we who are in it violate, destroy and ignore to our own danger. The import of this is that we are invited to walk, live and produce in tune with what is given in our environment and community. Right now, we are learning about the power of the nucleus, of certain elements in electrical power and such things as chemicals and disease. Are we willing to walk with God in understanding His might and faithfulness?
