Don't wait till the new year to get serious for the Lord. "now is the accepted time” (2 Cor 6:2)
Psalm 63:4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. 5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. 6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
If I were talking about Ada, this would not be bad stuff. If you were talking about your spouse, it would not be bad. But this is talking about the Lord God, creator of the universe, Father of the Savior, the Living Spirit who abides in our flesh to His glory. How can this be when I am hurting from the pain in my body, the anger at someone in my business or the lack of honor in my family? Have I really paid attention to the Lord who gives Himself out of all He is for the sake of a broken, wounded and almost dead world and people? Do we have any even slight image of The One who died for us, who cried for us at Gethsemane, who sent prophets to a broken nation, who designed us for fellowship with Him and who saw us walk away to rejoice in all we are (missed that target huh?) Personally, I wish I had this picture clear in every moment, but I get wrapped up in the same stuff you do. Let’s get personal with God today to start the year!
