Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
The key here is two lines: “doing his will…pleasing to him”. That does not cover paying my bills, running to help my descendant, eating appropriately or even getting housing for my poor neighbor in her 90’s. All of those things may be good, pleasing and such, but not “his will” for me. There is a dynamic (that is power) driven aim that should direct us toward the actual purposes of our lives with which He offers the appropriate gifts. A while back I noticed that some of the best loving people I have met have been limited in various areas of life. They have been mentally limited, physically limited and even socially limited, but equipped with love, patience and purpose. What we, you and I, need is to be supplied by the Lord with that which He intends us to be in His name. The easy answer is “able to love”, but the ways and means need to be sought in prayer and a real desire to be His. How is that working today?
