Isaiah 12:3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
Is it salvation to become sober after a life of addiction? Is it salvation to finally get to play in the Major Leagues after 8 years in the minors? You would say no…but…we would certainly celebrate such things. Even with joy. The big picture of salvation is to escape the grip of slavery in Egypt and the journey back to Israel after the captivity in Babylon for the people of God. Then there would be joy like water from the well. We all like to see earthly things come up good after many evil and bad times in our lives. The salvation of the people of God was to invite them all to trust in the Lord above all things, but they clung to things of earth. Let the water you drink be that which pours out as the living Spirit of God for your thirsty soul. Let Him be your desire as you attempt to worship with less than His perfect presence, even when there are good, blessed words and music. The well of salvation will remain when The Lord is present in our lives. Then Joy!
