Jeremiah 22:30 This is what the LORD says: "Record this man as if childless, a man who will not prosper in his lifetime, for none of his offspring will prosper, none will sit on the throne of David or rule anymore in Judah."
I wish that every leader of every nation was truly leading the people in ways of hope, future and the good of the nation. Some are blessed with the opportunity to start a good direction. I would dare to mention some from both parties in the USA, but for fear of a bad and wicked history refrain. But there are those who actually care about the people and not just power and authority. Jehoiachin was a lost cause for the Lord. The point of this scripture is that this is the end of the line for the power and influence of a family that had not done all that badly before Jehoiachin. Badly, but not all that….
When we are given the opportunity to teach, coach, preach, develop or otherwise lead people for whatever purpose of God, the call is not about our power, wisdom or joy but about the healing, growth and lives of those we are serving. That is always our risk and the reason we pray and seek the Lord. It is a risk.
