I have been taught to read, spell, do math and even a bit of music in my life. So have most people raised in the USA. And many do these things well. And many have ruined marriages, jail time and addictions that have not been avoided by these other skills. Some of us have been taught right and wrong, and even then have done wrong. The source of moral good, even spiritual is not accomplished finally (though temporarily) by our human and legal standards. The source of true morality comes from our life, encounters and trust in the “God of Peace” who has walked the great road with us from the doors of Eden, Mount Sinai and the temple in Jerusalem. And He is the source of those real moral gifts that we need in this strongly distracted culture in which we live. Is it too much then to call on Him?
