Overcomer

Romans 12: 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I have heard the broken heart of the hurting believer in prison who is reading the Word of God and trying to believe while the tenants around him are laughing, swearing, mocking and reviling him. It would be so easy to hate. To hide from them. To ignore them when they are in pain from their own broken lives. But the call of our Lord whether in prison or the suburbs is to offer from Him the good of our prayers, the sweetness of our caring and the effort of the fruit of the Spirit to their lives. This may seem to be “one-up-man ship”, but is actually opening the door for life where death may dwell.

For your prayers, Sierra Leone
