Plans for Whom
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
The setting of this great personal declaration was a nation in great, terrible despair. Their nation, Israel/Judea, had been taken into exile for 70 years and they were to settle down, support and pray for the people who had taken down their nation, their temple and their great city. I will bring back the people and there will be a rebuilding, but likely, you, to whom this is written will not see it! When we take this verse as ours, it may seem like this is the end of our hopes, but trust that the Lord has a great reversal in mind. On the other hand, this is for all of us. There is a great emptiness in many places of the Kingdom of God, but it is all around us, praying for the cities, the lost and the broken. Are you one of the people of God, then this is your promise to the broken around you: He has plans for them.
For your prayers, Iran
