Come Out!
2 Corinthians 6:16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." 17 Therefore, "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you." 18 And, "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
This is the stressful challenge in the real world. Even as we are made holy in the gift of Jesus, we are called to commit ourselves to those who are also receiving the gift, but offering Him to both our fellowship and the broken world around us: acknowledging the holiness we are called to is a part of the divine fellowship, but not yet our place with the broken world. The separation is of the nature of being yoked: that is being committed to the same broken world and purposes of those whom are the target of the Love, Mercy and Salvation of Jesus. We do not seek that, but we are to be focused on presenting life in the Temple for them to join. Come out, but not away.
