To Whom?
Psalm 95:1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
Oh, I am not sure I like the way they play the drums on that one! I no longer like Organ music. Could the guitar be a little more gentle?
To whom is the music sent? Is it for us in the pews, chairs or standing room? Maybe we should remember to whom the joy is expressed. Maybe we should take a moment before the songs start to envision the glory that belongs to our Father. Maybe we should come to praise Him, honor Him and release our joy to Him without noting the possible faults of some musicians. Oh, I have favorite songs, hymns and worship music that lifts me up, but do I lift HIM up may be the question that matters. As we have traveled, we have found radio stations that focus on “the latest praise”, “the oldies but goodies”, “Gospel music”, and various mixtures of the vast expressions of faith in our Father. Come let us sing for JOY! To HIM!
