I Will
Jeremiah 33:11 the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD, saying, "Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good; his love endures forever." For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,' says the LORD.
“I will…” Such a great promise! But the minute the candidate says such things, know that someone will have to adjust their lives because the actions of one interfere with the projects, hopes and dreams of someone else. The voices of joy come from the churches as new pastors, new insight and even restored interpretations come to the front. And in those moments we cry out “I will..” “I will do what you say”. “I will give freely”. “I will” and then another “I will”. But do we hear the clear call of true hope in that there is another “I will” that comes from the throne of heaven? God has spoken and whatever comes of that cry, the best we can say is “I follow You Lord.” Israel did not live in the joy of the Jeremiah “I will” and few if any since. The “I Will” is still cried out by our Lord and the call is still there for us. For me. For my family. For you. For your family. For our world.
