Our Jobs
Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Are you the janitor, the short order cook, the owner of the King Ranch or the governor of a state or King of a nation? Work for the Lord. With all your heart. If the alternative is to work for your profit, the adulation of others or the awe of your accomplishments, you may achieve some or all of the goals for which you strived, but the short term will maybe give some joy; the long term will miss Your King’s attention. We need a big picture of God in our sights as we put efforts into the things of this world – else we will get buried in the short term values of our visions and rewards. The human masters may not be the owners, the audiences or the purchasers of our efforts, but the Lord who set us before them to raise Him up. How do we see Our Jobs?
