Ephesians 4:24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
I hear the words “putting the new…in true righteousness and holiness”. And I see many pulling out variations of the 10 commandments or dissertations on the sermon on the Mount. But the new self is not the same in type or origin as the understood rule of life from before, but a new creation from the hand and heart of God. Do I want God to determine my directions, my service, his purposes or his life? Yes…..but maybe it is possible that the new self is outside my life styles and understandings. OUCH. That would put the nature of the new self to be beyond what I have read and understood before. Or at least beyond what the people of Isreal have seen and expected before. Have we truly been taught to walk with Jesus every day and hour? Have we been taught and led to see every person as saved by Him, even when those saved trip and fall on cue! God is working His Spirit in the lives of those He is redeeming. Like me.
