Confession

Psalm 32:1 Of David. A maskil. Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 2 Blessed is the one whose sin the LORD does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit. 3 When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin. 6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.

For many who are not Catholic, the idea of confession is icky! “I do not need to tell my sins to someone.” We have many folks going to counselors who listen over and over as they struggle with their humanity. All sin. All need to deal with sin. What better place to confess than with one who knows that forgiveness is paid in full! No, we do not need a clergy, but we do need one who will acknowledge the reality of non-perfection in us and who knows a hope in the forgiveness of the Son. Please reach out to someone somewhere who knows the reality of a life with holes in it and the hope of a healing hand outstretched from God. We all need it and can be set free to be blessed!
