Divine Empathy
Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Jesus was and is God. He was without sin. Was He without temptation? If we do not hear the cries in the Garden of Gethsemane, we may hear the cry on the cross “why have you forsaken me”. The full weight of humanity was upon Him and He felt it. I believe he felt it in the wilderness before Satan, on the roads with the disciples as they begged to destroy villages where they we rejected. Let us approach our Savior and Brother with the confidence that He knows our weakness and also the full Love of the One who understands. You and I are loved in our sin and brokenness by the One who has made open the door for life with Him. Come before Him with thanksgiving and trust.
