Victory

Philippians 3:13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

The one goal of entering into the eternal fellowship is clearly connected in this passage with the personal call of the Lord for Paul. He was given the challenge of taking the gospel to the wider world of his time. But in the middle of that call was the personal challenge of beatings, rejection, even some conflicts with his companions. The ultimate promise of eternal fellowship offered on the cross can be lost in the daily challenges of the very real world in which we live. What is behind? Or ahead? The “real” world that hides the eternal reality of our Lord, the Father of life. The one can cover up the joy of the risen Jesus and the Father who calls us into His very presence (Hebrews 10:19-20). Is this victory in our daily vision? Go, team, GO!!!
