The Contrast

2 Corinthians 5:1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

I took a drive around a neighboring medium size city. I saw the homes of the “better off” and was pretty impressed by size, shape and excellent grounds. I also went to the homes of “lesser situations”. Small wooden structures with maybe a bathroom and bed options. Junk in the yards with little or no grass, but signs of glass. The roads to these places were not up to the fine drives of the other residences. We are impressed with the housing of this world. Are we called to the house of the Lord even as we strive for the better housing of this world? (By the way, I like my home, my location and may even be too comfortable.) The point Paul and I are making is that we keep the priorities clear in the face of struggles in this life. What are the real threats and reasons to fear? That which might mess with His presence in our lives is to be noted and rejected.
